Large coffee

This morning required a large coffee. It was one of those mornings. I didn't want to get out of bed and I was running late and then traffic was bad and I didn't make my lunch last night...blah, blah. I think it's this rainy, depressing weather.

Anyways, nothing new to comment on. Just thought I'd share my hectic morning.

For all you Grey's Anatomy fans out there, what'd you think of the season opener? One thing I don't like, it overlaps with The Office - now what were they thinking? How am I supposed to watch both of my favorite shows? Grey's anatomy of The Office? I'll put that one out there.

Ahhh

Finally a chance to breath. It's been extremely hectic this last week. Busy, busy, busy. I spent all weekend getting homework done and running around visiting senior citizens. I ended up playing crib for two hours with ladies named Ruby, Diane and Elaine - all in their 80s. So that was fun. They want me to keep coming back - maybe I will. Although it seemes like they get lots of visitors and maybe I should visit with someone who doesn't get any?

I had my first article reviewed. It was an interesting experience and overall, I felt OK about it. He did say I was a good writer - so there Terry!

I think sometimes I do things just to prove to others that I can. I mean I failed my first Econ class with a 33% and then went on to major in it. Now why would I do that? Economics isn't even really that interesting...mmmm.

Enough with the pshyco (sp????) anyone out there know how to spell physcology? Did I get it right? Always a guessing game. It's OK though because my aunt told me that either a person knows how to spell or they don't (that's what her kids Grade 3 teacher told her) I'm probably at a Grade 3 spelling level! I just didn't get that gift. Once again, makes a person question the whole writing thing??!!

Have a great day and don't forget to leave me comments. Specifically, let's conduct a pole. How many people think spelling is a God-give gift? I look forward to your comments.

Feeling better

I just spent the last two days in Calgary's Rockyview hospital (there is no view of the Rockies). I had the world's worst stomach ache and was convinced I was having an Appendix attack. I was sent to the hopsital by MRC's doctor only to sit around for 7 hours and then sent home with no diagnoses. I was back again this morning for an ultra sound of which, the results took 5 hours only to be told that I had a bought with irritable bowel syndrome???? I'm not confident in the diagnosis but I feel better now so I won't complain. I missed the two most important days of the week and now feel extremely behind.

I guess I'll be busy catching up and hopefully I'll forget this whole thing ever happened!

Wish me luck!

'This is me in grade 9, baby'

Okay, since nobody is leaving any comments or reading this blog, I'm not sure if I should bother writing it anymore! Oh well, it's for my personal enjoyment I guess..What, am I not interesting enough for you?'

So my first two days of school have been interesting. I suppose I'm almost 10 years older than most of the kids just starting school so that adds a very strange dynamic to the mix. I've realized that I'm no longer cool, in fact, I'm a total nerd. I've never seen so much skin and cleavage in my life! Heels! The heels are so high and inappropriate it's only a matter of time before some girl falls down the stairs and seriously injures herself or someone else. Backpacks are no longer cool and everyone, I mean everyone, carries a cell phone and some sort of MP3 player (at least I have one of those).

I feel like a fish out of water. Oh well. I'm already busy with homework and assignments. If anyone has any story ideas, please feel free to pass them on to me! Anyways, we produce a newspaper called the Calgary Journal. Check it out www.calgaryjournal.ca. I should have a story in there sometime this year! My experience at STEP should come in handy because I got assigned the Business 'beat'. I'll be writing stories on local business in Calgary. Not too glamorous, but it's a start.

Anyways, I'll write more soon although it doesn't really matter because I don't think anyone is reading this!

Getting settled

Darren and I arrived in Calgary on Saturday. Since then, we've been unpacking and getting settled. I now have all of my 'school supplies' purchased and am ready to go. I visited the campus and found my way around. It's pretty nice; easy to get around. All looks well. I start tomorrow at 8:30. Hopefully I tomorrow night I won't be writing about some awful, embarrasing moment I had during the day!

It's been great living with Kari. She had everything ready to go for us. Unfortunately, I've been a little homesick this week :(

But, so far, so good...only time will tell!
